Each year, a small number of select pedicab operators make the trek to Indio, California to work at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. I spent many years traveling the country to work this event and many others. This tightly-knit group of itinerant pedicab operators has been called “a crazy crew of neocarnival folk” - here is a glimpse into the nomadic lives of these riders - all of us seeking an adventure larger than ourselves, leading lives stranger than fiction, chasing hell on wheels.
