In Spring of 2022, I ventured out to Bishop, California to shoot for Flash Foxy Climbing Festival as one of three photo mentees. It takes intentional work to carve out nuanced spaces for learning - places where underrepresented folks can bring their entire selves, make mistakes, and try new things. The feeling of being able to show up in spaces like Flash Foxy - of being seen - is so special. These images capture a sense of belonging in the outdoors - something I hope we all get to experience.
